Privacy Policy
L!NCHPIN ("we", "the site", www.linchpin-gg.com) is a free PUBG stats and match-review site run by an independent developer. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights.
1. Operator and privacy contact
The site is run by an independent developer who also acts as the person responsible for personal data. For any request to access, correct or delete your data, or to file a complaint, email [email protected]. We reply within 10 business days.
2. Data processed without signing in
- PUBG player names you search for: used to fetch public game data from the official PUBG API. Searched account names are recorded for the leaderboard and caching.
- Server access logs: when a lookup needs fresh data from the PUBG API, the server logs the source IP (IPv6 truncated to the first 64 bits), browser User-Agent and Referer. This is for abuse prevention and rate limiting, not for tracking individuals.
- Anonymous visit counter: the number shown on the home page increases once per browser session and contains nothing that identifies you.
- Our hosting and CDN provider (Cloudflare) processes the technical data needed to serve the connection (such as your IP address) under its own policy.
3. Data processed when you sign in with Discord (optional)
Signing in is entirely optional; every lookup feature works without it. If you choose to sign in with Discord, we receive and store, via our authentication provider (Supabase):
- Your Discord user ID, username, avatar and the email address of your Discord account (shown on Discord's authorization screen and shared with your consent).
- The list of players you follow, so it syncs across devices.
- The PUBG account name and account ID you claim.
- Discord match alerts (invite-only): the Discord webhook URL and language you provide, used to post match summaries to your channel.
4. Data that stays in your browser
The following is stored in your browser's localStorage / sessionStorage and is not sent to our servers (except the sign-in session): language preference, recent searches, followed players (when signed out), dismissed announcements, the recording-alignment calibration value, and your sign-in session. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
When you cut a highlight clip, your video file is processed entirely on your own device and is never uploaded to us or to any server.
5. Advertising and cookies
We may show ads through third-party ad services such as Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info. For how Google uses this data, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent screen first; personalized advertising cookies are not used until you consent.
Ads never block any stats, and you are never required to click an ad to use a feature.
6. Processors and international transfers
To run the site, the following providers process data on our behalf. Their servers may be located outside your country (mainly in the United States):
- Supabase (US): Discord sign-in and database.
- Railway (US): API server and server logs.
- Cloudflare (US): site hosting, CDN and static file storage.
- Google (US): web fonts (Google Fonts), tutorial video thumbnails (YouTube) and advertising (AdSense).
- Discord (US): sign-in, and the match alerts you set up yourself.
- Ko-fi (UK): if you choose to tip, Ko-fi processes the payment; we only receive the display name and amount you enter on Ko-fi, never your payment details.
7. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell your personal data and do not provide it to third parties, except to the processors listed above and where required by law.
8. Retention and deletion
- Sign-in data (section 3): kept until you ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will delete your account data, followed players, claimed account and alert settings.
- Server access logs: deleted automatically under our hosting provider's log retention; we keep no separate copy.
- Data in your browser: under your control; clearing your browser data deletes it.
- Cached public PUBG game data: kept as technically needed. This is public game data published by PUBG, not data we collect from you.
9. Your rights
You can at any time ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, ask us to stop processing it, or withdraw your consent. Email [email protected]; exercising these rights is free of charge. You can also revoke the site's access at any time under Discord's "Authorized Apps".
10. Children
The site is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you are the legal guardian of a child under 14 who has signed in, contact us and we will delete the data.
11. Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS; the database uses row-level access control and the server connects with least-privilege credentials; administrative functions require a separate secret. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we keep these measures maintained.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
